I served in the U.S. Air Force for 20 years, retiring as a Chief Master Sergeant in a career path focused on meteorology. My military career afforded several opportunities to work in a variety of leadership, managerial, supervisory, and technical positions. Tennis and other racquet sports have played an important role in my life. I started playing at age 8 in the small town of Blue Earth, MN. I experienced the thrill of competition on my high school tennis team, which earned two Minnesota State High School Championships, as well as through USTA junior sanctioned tournaments and collegiate ball. Lessons learned on and off the court helped me grow and mature in youth and as an adult over a successful 20-year military career, which in turn instilled a deep sense of public service. After retiring from the Air Force and settling into Flagstaff, AZ with my family, I began exploring ways to give back to tennis and other racquet sports.
