I was responsible for the development of a full range of Behavioral Health Services, including Adult Services, Geriatric Psychiatric Services and the market study and development of new programs including ECT, Adult Mental Health IOP and other services.As a patient advocate in addition to being an operational leader, I was able to significantly reduce the use of seclusion and restraint, the use of 1:1 sitters, and the addition of a Comfort Room as part of implementing a Trauma Informed Care approach - all indicators of an increasingly therapeutic and healthy environment.While creating these patient-centered improvements I was also able to significantly increase admissions and improve payer mix. I also implemented Telemental Health to increase the efficiency of mental health assessments in all of HealthONE's facilities (hospitals and freestanding ERs) throughout the Denver area.

I was the managing director of a small geriatric psychiatric unit. I recruited and provided administrative leadership to physicians, developed a customer referral base, and hired and managed therapeutic staff.
