Vice President Business DevelopmentAugustus Energy Partners Ii Jul 2014 - PresentDenver / BillingsMy mission, to be based Denver, is to find and help evaluate suitable acquisition candidates, primarily in the Rockies. Augustus would also consider E &P joint venture opportunities with the right partners, as well as organic lease acquisition on desirable plays and prospects. Led by Steven D. Durrett, President and CEO, I have joined certain other executives that were also part of the management teams at Augustus I and United States Exploration, Inc. Many members of this same team have known and/or worked with each other for over 30 years.Augustus II, simultaneously with its formation, closed a new $96.7 million institutional private equity commitment with Lime Rock Partners, Wells Fargo Energy Capital, and Rivington Capital Partners, LLC (a subsidiary of Rivington Holdings, LLC).

Vice President Of Business Development And Land MangementGreat Western Oil & Gas Company Dec 2009 - Jul 2012Greater Denver AreaIn addition to being a strong Niobrara and Bakken player, Great Western (GWOG) has an aggressive A & D effort, involving both solicited (broker driven), as well as unsolicited (direct contact) acquisitions throughout the Rockies, Mid-Continent and Texas. My job is to manage that process, by finding the opportunities and targets and then developing the evaluation thru the bid process. That includes working with the technical team (engineering and geology) and helping develop the financial models presented to management. GWOG has a very sophisticated capital structure and finances all of their acquisitions which require we also find funding on acquisitions up to and thru closing. I am also the point person for the negotiation as well as drafting of offers and PSA’s and all the subsequent due diligence on each deal. Due to our small staff, this is a very hands-on process where I have been responsible for deals as small as $1.3MM to a transaction of $51MM and bids over $100MM. Part of my duties also includes the negotiation of E&P and Joint Venture deals, including the preparation of the agreements. Supervise a staff of five.

Senior Economic And Financial AnalystHs Resources / Kerr Mcgee Corp Sep 1997 - Jun 2007Responsible for the development and constant updating of the multi-year DJ district financial and economic model and formal business plan which comprised >350 operations in 2004 and required a budget of $150 MM. My analysis determined capital budgeting and project selection then directly fed the corporate financial statements. HS performed very sophisticated deterministic and stochastic (simulation based) analysis that required close interaction with the engineering staff and geoscientists. Quarterly analyst, board of directors meetings and yearend reporting was based on my analysis. Special do-or-drop analysis on pipeline projects, processing options, contract scenarios, and gas plant issues made up a significant portion of my duties. In 1998, I initiated and managed a pumper routing, scheduling and management optimization program involving our 3500 operated wells in the Wattenberg field area. The work was conducted by a team of graduate students from the Colorado School of Mines and lead to some significant reductions in operating costs, supply chain management and a new set of “best practices” towards production optimization.
