Program Manager - 9Th Annual Seem Leadership Conference
The Sports, Entertainment, Event - Management (SEEM) Leadership Conference was founded in 2014 with the goal of connecting industry leaders of today with the leaders of tomorrow. The SEEM Leadership Conference is a student-run event that captures the spirit of the experiential-based educational mission of Johnson & Wales University. My time working on the 9th Annual SEEM Leadership conference allowed me to lead team of 9 persons and help develop internal committees including: Education, Operations, Marketing/Sponsorships. I helped coordinate cross-promotional marketing efforts for other events. Additionally, I helped facilitate meetings with internal meetings twice a week and external meetings when applicable; Increase conference sponsorship dollars (monetary donations/in-kind donations) by 1000+% and assist in the planning and execution of conference including but not limited to operation schedule, updating website, creating speaker agreements, oversee contracts, maintain budget. I also had the opportunity to represent the team at networking functions to spread word about our conference.
Residential Assistant
A Resident Assistant, also known as a resident advisor or RA, is responsible for leading, mentoring, and supervising the student residents at a college residence. In my role as Resident Assistant, I directly oversee 48 residents in one residence hall and assist the supervision of 500+ residents in a group of residence halls. I help develop and maintain positive relationships with residents, including mediating issues as they arise. Additionally, I help create on-campus programs and events for residents to foster community and build relationships.Our hall, The Village at Johnson and Wales University helps give back to the local communities through donation drives, fundraising programs, and campus-wide initiatives. Personally, I have helped raise money for March of Dimes – a non-profit organization that helps pre-mature babies and their families through medical research, government advocacy and providing educational resources. My work on the 8th Annual SEEM Leadership Conference was on the Marketing & Sponsorship Committee. I helped accumulate over $700 in sponsorship dollars for the student run conference, improve conference website design, and social media channels, worked with internal stakeholders to create internal communication and marketing efforts, and executed day-of logistics in order to produce a successful conference.
Program Manager - Spring Into Sustainability Tradeshow
The Spring into Sustainability Tradeshow was a student production class for International Exhibitions and Events (SEE 3170). The class is designed to give students practical experience in developing a trade show or exhibition with special emphasis on pre-planning, budget preparation, advertising and/or public relations and exhibit setupThe premise of the tradeshow was to highlight local Providence/Rhode Island vendors and their efforts to be sustainability. The tradeshow also made a lasting impact planting trees on campus. In total, it was successful with us having over 12 exhibitors and approximately 150 attendees at Johnson & Wales University. As program manager, I was tasked with overseeing all committees, including but not limited to helping facilitate ideas, encouraging teamwork, delegating tasks, and ensuring smooth communication. In addition, I worked on managing budget and adjusting when needed, helping with day-of operations, and creating appropriate evaluations and focus groups for future classes.

The Front Desk Manager (FDM) position is part of the Residential Life team at Johnson & Wales University. In this position, I helped create a warm and welcoming environment for on-campus residents when they walk into their residence hall. I helped answer any questions and incidents that residents might have by helping with the issue at hand or sending them to the correct on-campus resources. As New England’s largest sports and entertainment arena, TD Garden is the home of the storied NHL’s Boston Bruins and NBA’s Boston Celtics franchises and hosts over 3.5 million people a year at its world-renowned concerts, sporting events, family shows, wrestling, and ice shows.Directed Experiential Education (DEE) offered by Johnson & Wales gives students an intensive, project-based experiential learning opportunity conducted under the supervision of a faculty member. The Sports, Entertainment, and Event - Management department has an educational partnership with TD Garden in Boston, Massachusetts.In this particular semester we consulted with TD Garden to create an effective solution to a given problem statement. Our task was how to bring fan engagement to back to the Beanpot Hockey Tournament.Throughout the semester we conducted professional meetings with TD Garden stakeholders to direct the project and effectively communicate progress and ideas. In order to complete our project, we gathered and utilized research through self-made survey methods and literary journals to gain perspective of industry standards.
