This employed provider practice is comprised of 11 Neonatologists and 16 Neonatal Nurse Practitioners. Home to the largest and most comprehensive NICU in the state, St. Luke's Children's Hospital in Boise can care for up to 61 critically ill newborns, some of whom weigh less than one pound. It maintains an average daily census of 37 infants, and receives over 850 admissions per year. The St. Luke's Magic Valley NICU in Twin Falls has beds for up to 18 infants, and the St. Luke's Meridian NICU has an additional 12 beds. Our newest NICU in Nampa has 15 NICU beds, 7 of which are an innovative Family Care Suite design which allows for infants requiring NICU care to remain in the same room in which the delivery occurs, thereby avoiding separation of the infant and family.As Medical Director, Dr. Snyder is responsible for recruitment of new providers, strategic planning for Neonatal services, assisting with staff education, ensuring continuous quality improvement, tracking patient outcomes, holding providers accountable, improving family satisfaction, and furthering the mission and vision of St. Luke's Children's Hospital.
