Vice President/News Director for nation’s most-watched duopoly KCBS/KCAL; overseeing nearly 70 weekly hours of live news, weather and sports and a staff/budget of more than 200 journalists. Achieved historic ratings milestone with first-ever number #1 ranking of both late news at 10pm (KCAL) and 11pm (KCBS) in February 2015. The number one ranking in late news on KCBS was the first in more than 20 years in a February sweeps period. Between 2011 and 2015 KCBS had the best late news retention from prime of any CBS-owned station in the top ten markets. Also oversaw transition to Sony ELC control room automation during tenure. Operation also produced nightly newscast in Phoenix for FOX affiliate in Tucson. Before being promoted to Phoenix station, served as Executive News Director for WHAS-TV, the #1 television news operation in Louisville.

San Francisco Bay Area

Vice President and News Director for KNTV. Oversaw the successful transition from a small independent news operation based in the South Bay to the NBC affiliate for the entire bay area-all part of a first-of-its-kind reverse comp affiliation deal with NBC. Switch took place over an 18 month period with NBC purchasing the station following the switch.

Cincinnati

News Director for WCPO, the #1 station in Cincinnati. Oversaw aggressive news operation that won a Peabody award and duPont Columbia award for a multiyear investigation of the building of the new Cincinnati Bengals football stadium. Before being promoted to station’s News Director, was promoted to Assistant News Director from Executive Producer.
