About Scott Beale

👋 Welcome! I'm passionate about supporting leaders around the world! ❤️ 🔗 To stay up date, please subscribe to his newsletter here: https://bit.ly/ScottsLeadershipMatters📝 Here is my brief bio: Scott Beale is a seasoned leader and entrepreneur with over 25 years of experience in developing and managing international programs and partnerships. While finishing his role at the Peace Corps, he is exploring new options (especially in Asia) that leverage his entrepreneurial acumen, international experience, and leadership training. For over three years, Scott has led Peace Corps global operations, a team that includes 2,000+ staff and ~3,000 Volunteers spanning 63 countries. He was appointed by President Biden and started the first week of the Administration, at a time when all of the volunteers had been evacuated due to the pandemic. His task was to return Volunteers to service. His opportunity was to reimagine service along the way. In addition to resending Volunteers back to the field, other accomplishments Scott is proud of include: opening new posts in Viet Nam, Sri Lanka and El Salvador; launching a virtual service pilot; creating the Peace Corps climate sustainability strategy; serving as the lead Congressional briefer and helping advocated for a 20% increase in the President’s Budget request from $410 to $495 million. Prior to the Peace Corps, Scott founded an international social enterprise, Atlas Corps, that brought ~1,100 leaders from 110 countries to serve in the U.S. The Nonprofit Times twice named Scott one of the Top 50 Nonprofit CEOs in the U.S. Scott has extensive government affairs experience having worked with the State Department in India and Bosnia, with a Governor who chaired the National Governors’ Association, and for two U.S. Presidents. He also authored, the Millennial Manifesto, a book on the politics and activism of the Millennial Generation in 2003.Scott has a bachelors degree from Georgetown University and a master’s in public administration from the University of Delaware and an Executive Education certificate on leadership from the Harvard Kennedy School. He is a Presidential Leadership Scholars alum and was an adjunct professor at Georgetown and UVA. He serves on the Board of AIESEC USA. He has lived in eight different countries. Scott is a triathlete who enjoys racing with his wife and two sons.
