Practice Manager - Ims/Cloud Services
CurrentAs part of the acquisition, I was promoted to MSP Practice Manager, leading a team of talented professionals I'd worked with for years.Part of my job in the merger was to evaluate and determine how best to move our existing support and ticketing systems, as well as our processes/procedures, into the new model. Crucial to that was ensuring our team was able to put boots on the ground almost immediately with no interruption to our customers.Since then, I've expanded my duties - taking my over 30 years of IT and industry experience (and love for checklists! - See USAF below) and help shape teams to be efficient and inspired. I have been instrumental in rolling out new standards, taking the best of our combined teams, and implementing these changes across our entire crew of over 250 people. Everything from new documentation and reporting templates, along with source-of-truth data integrations; to working with DEVOPS to develop a gold-standard for monitoring and automation procedures. (One template to rule them. One template to find them. One template to run them...and in our alerts bind them - sorry Mr. Tolkien)While I have teams and customers that I manage, I'm routinely brought into other projects and customers to "give the warm fuzzies". I excel at taking a troubled customer, putting them at ease while controlling the narrative, and putting together a tactical plan to get us through the issue and back online quickly. I then work with the teams to not only find the root of the problem, whether it technical or personnel, and put together a strategy. While I miss some of the technical - I do think I've found my calling. To me, being able to still be involved in a technical issue (although I don't get to code anymore), break it down for an audience, and guide associates to be the best they can be (I should have said Aim Higher...more Air Force-y)...What more can I ask for (except SWAG - I still wear free 'Conference' shirts!)
