Guided company through global economic crisis, with direct responsibility for negotiating with customers, vendors and other stakeholders of Idaho polysilicon business to ensure continuing solvency and creditor forbearance while seeking strategic investment partner. Headed in-house business and legal negotiations for $131 million majority investment by Tianwei New Energy, a Chinese solar energy manufacturing business, state-owned by China South Industries Group Corporation.

Joined at early stage as one of four executives in 10-employee energy technology start-up company. Responsible for all domestic and international sales, marketing, strategic business development, and legal functions for three start-up business units formed under Hoku: Hoku Fuel Cells, Hoku Solar, and Hoku Materials. Successfully lobbied, negotiated, and delivered on multi-million Dollar 18-month U.S. Navy contract to demonstrate the commercial viability of novel fuel cell technology. Managed in-house legal team (of one) to complete Nasdaq IPO. Negotiated and closed approximately $1 billion in polysilicon sales contracts with Asian and European solar manufacturing firms, securing $136 million in customer prepayments for future deliveries of polysilicon from a production facility under construction in Idaho.
