Fleet Manager:This summer’s internship involved working at The Driver Provider in the Corporate Headquarters located in Phoenix, AZ. The Driver Provider has spent the last 25 years as an industry disruptor, focusing on providing our Clients with an elite experience once they sit in their vehicle of choice. Every employee at The Driver Provider is trained in providing the highest level of service to our clients as service and satisfaction are engrained in every fiber of their being. As the Fleet Manager, I was responsible for ensuring that over 100 vehicles were in good working order, cleaned in a manner to exceed our client’s expectations, work with the Chief Mechanic on the progress of the vehicles being repaired which are on the Out Of Service Report. (OOS) The OOS Report goes out each night after being updated from the day before. I also had the responsibility of ensuring that Dispatch was made aware of any vehicles coming off the OOS report so they could be added to the “in service “ fleet report. I would also, follow up on the nightly report that Dispatch sends out showing which vehicles need to be washed before they are used the following day. The vehicles include luxury sedans, SUVs, limousines, Mercedes Sprinter Limos, minibusses, and full-sized Motor Coaches. I also had the task of making sure the Chauffeurs would conduct their pre/post-trip examination before and after they would return to the garage. Pre-trip inspection includes checking tire pressure, fluid levels, cleanliness, and overall condition of the vehicle. Post-trip inspection is the same as pre-trip to insure no damage had occurred during the routes. Lastly, I maintained the overall appearance and functionality of the garage. I would be responsible for random errands that came up. For example, our ice machine went down once, our chauffeurs all depart with coolers, ice, and water, and I had to run out and retrieve 50 bags of ice until the ice machine was fixed.
