Bakesale is a vertical B2B marketplace that will modernize the $31B baking industry. As CEO of two food businesses, I bought >$2M in baked goods from 6 commercial bakeries. The process is much harder than it should be. There are 3,000 commercial bakeries in the US, 7,000 retail bakeries, and 50,000 individual (for-profit) bakers, and there is no central resource to find them, do comparison shopping, read reviews, process and manage orders, handle payments or schedule deliveries. Bakesale will aggregate supply and bring offline workflows online. It will be a turnkey platform for bakeries that want to streamline and grow their existing wholesale business or launch a new one from scratch.

Developed at the Texas Transportation Institute (an affiliate of Texas A&M University), the Freight Shuttle is designed to move truck trailers or containers on a privately-financed, electric-powered guideway (similar to a monorail) built in existing rights-of-way (such as a highway median). It is a cleaner, more efficient alternative to trucks in highly congested corridors. It will replace thousands of truck trips per day in key, high-volume segments of the transportation network such as from ports to distribution centers, across international borders, or between major markets. The concept presents a viable solution to a severely underfunded and dilapidated national transportation network. Responsible for cultivating new projects, strategic partnerships, and equity investments.
