I have served as a Board Member since 1987, previously served as the Head of Officials from 1992-1999, and have been Executive Director since 2011. In my role, I manage the nonprofit league's twenty member Board of Directors with responsibilities including: drafting agendas, organizing, leading and facilitating the monthly board meetings; determining annual fees and awarding need-based scholarships; creating and managing the league's annual Charity 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament, as well as soliciting and stewarding corporate sponsors.- Supervising the All League Coordinator, and all aspects of the NAA's relationship with the City of Newton through its partnership with Newton Community Education (NCE).- Overseeing all operations of the youth basketball program for approx. 600 Newton children in grades 3-12, a staff of twenty referees, and over one hundred and twenty-five volunteer coaches, including: drafting the annual message to parents, and scheduling games and practices for over seventy teams across six leagues.- Created the NAA Finals Weekend event(s), and developed the weekend to recognize over two hundred kids for their successes on the court, their sportsmanship and character, as well as the best teams per league.- Established the league's Hall of Fame to recognize the contributions of previous volunteers and/or participants from the near fifty-year history of the league.- Created the Young Leaders Program, identifying 5-6 high school student volunteers per season, and cultivating their leadership skills as they participate in multiple areas of league management.- Inducted into NAA Hall of Fame - March, 2019
