As a member of Contentful’s demo team, I am responsible for building the stories that help illustrate the platform’s capabilities. Bringing my design, development, and storytelling skills together I help product teams bring new features to market by creating easily understood and replicated demos for existing and potential customers.

As a member of the Design Systems team, I was lead architect for their next generation design system using web components, tokens, and Figma variables. I was instrumental in aligning designers and developers, collaborating with team members to develop a usable semantic token system, and creating a custom Figma widget that synchronizes variables with git repo tokens to empower designers.

As a designer and developer I have helped Summit accelerate their digital transformation by building and maintaining a new Design System, introducing a micro-app/frontend framework, contributing to the mortgage user experience, and helping to align the design and development teams.

I am responsible for generating all UX and UI Designs defining Summit's next generation software. This includes helping visualize how people are interacting with Summit and where opportunities are all the way down to new designs for reimagined banking. I also contribute heavily to prototype production in a number of various technologies such as native iOS (Swift) and web development (React, etc).

Aha is an app focused on building ideas. My focus was on creating a business development process that seamlessly integrates all the layers needed to produce quick, data rich design and development cycles that reveal customer value. With Earthling Interactive I worked with over 30 companies, mostly startups, to design, prototype, and help develop their mobile and web applications. I developed a short iterative approach to prototyping, focusing on synthesizing UI and product solutions via mockups, interactive prototypes in native code (html, objective c, etc), and validation through formal user testing.

OpenHomes is a safe, affordable, modern way to buy or sell a home. We use technology to connect home buyers and sellers directly, without the need for an agent.OpenHomes was accepted into the Summer 2013 class of gener8tor, a Wisconsin tech accelerator. Serving as CTO, I have been responsible for every technical and design aspect of the site except the logo.

I created, architected, and implemented user-centric prototypes and design solutions for the web and iOS. I was the lead designer and developer in the redesign of Propeller's iPhone application, which included multiple iterations of HTML UI prototypes that resulted in solutions that informed an equally iterative design process. I subsequently worked with another iOS developer to implement this application.

At StudyBlue, I was the primary iOS developer and spearheaded the migration of StudyBlue's iPhone application to the iPad that launched in July 2012. During this process I was promoted to Head of Usability, expanding my responsibilities to include product development across the entire product. I implemented a user driven development processes that emphasizes rapid concepting with wireframing, prototyping, hallway testing, analytics integration and user interviews.StudyBlue is a Madison based start-up that focuses on student based applications, with nearly two million users overall of which approximately half log in via mobile devices.

Earth Information Technologies, Inc. is a web development firm specializing in complex web applications with statistically-based data sources. My primary role was to manage and architect projects with an emphasis on client side development. I lead the development of EarthIT’s in house framework based on jQuery and Kohana that allowed for rapid development of complex Internet applications. My focus was primarily on JavaScript, but I also designed, implemented and maintain several large scale Flex applications.

Leading development of a widget framework for Shoutlet.com. I created a lightweight frameworkbased on Flex (MXML based, Box layout, etc) that was significantly smaller in file size (10x)without compromising on skinning, MVC/Cairngorm, and layout power. This has allowed Shoutletto reinvent existing movie and podcast widgets and expand into more complex widgets utilizingmultimedia messaging, Twitter, and FormSpring. My widget builder was featured on Flex.org.

My responsibilities involved overseeing the development of a Flash department including new hires, code standards, and the general Flash development architecture. I was instrumental in the MillerHighLife.com campaign with a search engine optimized, all-Flash site for the relaunch of Miller’s Girl in the Moon campaign.

I managed and developed Flash based websites for the company's brand sites. Over a half dozen sites were all managed from Intranet applications I initiated, including content management, catalog management, rider biographies, race results, and dealer locater. Visits for www.mooseracing.com tripled over a 3-4 month period and page hits tripled for www.thormx.com after I updated these sites. I also managed and developed the company e-commerce site redesign (www.partsnetweb.com), which handled transactions totaling hundreds of millions annually.

As part of the Journal Interactive team, I designed and implemented many sites for companies in Milwaukee and took the initiative to implement the RealMedia ad system on JSOnline. Thisincluded updating and mapping each page/section on JSOnline as well as creating and testingthe tags necessary to serve rich media ads, which JSOnline was subsequently able to do for the first time. I also was the first in the company to experiment with interactive content, includinggames, within ads.
