Mockstar is a collaboration between Mark Moffatt and myself. We are currently working on the debut EP that will be released mid summer 2014. Both Mark and myself have extensive experience in the studio and this project is a culmination of that experience.

In January 2014 I opened D Squared Luthiery with a partner. I was trained as a luthier (stringed musical instrument repair) by Master Luthier Larry Spotten over a four year period. We repair all stringed instruments electric and acoustic. Luthiery requires great patience and has a positive impact in my career and my personal life.

Managed entire information technology staff, budget, projects and initiatives. Worked closely with researchers and administrative staff to understand their needs and create technology solutions to best suit their requirements and budgets. Created a staggered infrastructure upgrade plan that would fit the State budgeting process. Upgraded existing out dated hardware over three year period and reduced costs associated with enterprise storage by leveraging new virtualized storage technology. Managed large scale web development projects for research and administrative departments. Developed metrics and reports for upper management review. Lead initiatives to reduce risk of data loss and formulated data retention planning. Managed Bio Safety Level 3 access and data security. Worked with the CDC to create new standards for data security within the select agent programs nationwide. Wrote detailed documentation which was presented to the CDC to assist them in creating new guidelines. Worked closely with the FBI on security concerns within the University and with regards to (IP) Intellectual property. Assisted the University Security Office with mitigation of vulnerabilities within Biodesign labs. Assisted University legal staff in assessing sensitive security matters. Worked with researchers and University departments to install 10 gig connectivity to University High Performance Computing cluster and recommend plans to extend the range of the network for future research within Biodesign. Evaluated new technology to increase efficiency in research.

Provide technical project management for institute initiatives. These initiatives required knowledge in the following areas; servers, networking, electrical, video surveillance, audio/visual, radio communication, firewalls, VPN, and Storage Area Networks. Responsible for systems architecture planning, design, and implementation. Maintained detailed documentation of server environment and network configuration. Assisted as needed in server management tasks and provided admin support to Institute customers. Developed and managed Institute data security policies including acceptable use and detailed server/workstation standards. Co-chaired ASU Technical Advisory Group (TAG). This group advised the ASU Chief Information Officer and a group of information technology directors on campus wide data security technology implementations. TAG also made recommendations regarding new data security technologies that could be implemented to create a more secure yet manageable environment. Managed Audio/Video team and involved in all aspects of audio/video including pre-production high-definition/standard definition filming, video editing, audio editing, post production visual effects, live broadcast video production, and photo editing. Achieved two certifications on Cisco firewall and one advanced Qualys security certification. Proficiency in Protools, Final Cut Pro, Adobe Premier, Adobe After Effects for post production.

Responsible for all aspects of systems architecture including server, storage, network, audio/visual, application, security and datacenter design. Created server environment which consisted of a combination of Linux and Windows 2003 AS servers. Maintained thirty plus servers in production and development environment. Provided short and long scale storage planning and maintenance on eighty-two Terabyte EMC Clarion Storage Area Network. Assisted in redesign of complex audio/visual system. Designed, implemented and supported network connectivity and security architecture for remote offices. Created and maintained secure environment for sharing project related and revision tracking for research from multiple universities worldwide. Designed, implemented and maintained large scale system backup architecture using Veritas Net Backup, Apple XRaid drive shelves, snaps and ADIC Scaler i2000 tape library. Architected and coordinated Ethernet and Fiber Channel networks for co-location site. Developed and produced several Pod casts using industry tools such as Roland 24 track digital recorder and Protools. Redesigned, implemented and maintained surveillance camera infrastructure and security hardware and software.

Support of high availability UNIX system. Monitor RS232 communications. Systems administration of IBM AIX machine. Added AIX high availability cluster using HACMP. Troubleshoot hardware and software problems with server and Litton crane system. Maintain shop floor peripherals. ESIX system administration including backups, adding users, monitoring systems, and software in the integration test facility. Completed resetting of systems to initiate new testing. Monitored simulated factory tests. Troubleshooting of network and UNIX software problems between VAX and UNIX systems using Sniffer. Assisted the factory when critical system situations occurred. Used HTML to update documentation. Use of X windows, Windows NT server and workstation, Microsoft Office package, and proprietary testing tools. Upgrading of AT&T systems and UNIX software.
