Responsible for the management, expansion and coordination efforts of Engineering and Manufacturing team for the installation and startup of a new Sony product, Universal Media Disc (UMD) for the Playstation Portable (PSP). Led the completion, installation and startup of 9 production lines and strategic planning for 16 additional lines to meet escalating marketplace demands. Conducted comprehensive statistical analysis to assess production readiness and ensure the repeatability of product quality standards. Developed a robust quality plan, sampling plan, and production criteria, laying the foundation for a streamlined manufacturing process. Collaborated closely with both local and Japanese Sony engineers, providing direction and oversight during the installation and startup phases. Responsible for the direct supervision of the second and third shift operations involving up to 22 employees. Initiated a project involving data collection via statistical Process Control methods to reduce costs, minimize scrap, and recover lost profits.
