Scott Marson Work Experience Details
  • Hat Trick Media

Hat Trick Media Jul 2010 - Present
Lincolnshire Graphic Design and Web Development. Seamless design applied to print and web by everso helpful, creative people. 01476 576839 :)
  • Kimeera
    Creative Director
    Kimeera Dec 2005 - Nov 2010
Initially Eddie and I set up the business to tick over nicely as a small consultancy. It has become clear over the 3 years that Kimeera is destined for much bigger things on a national stage. We both run the business together and account manage our growing client list. This year Eddie is concentrating on Online Research & Development while I'm growing the Reseller network which will ultimately feed the Kimeera Ranch without us really.I feel that this is the most exciting period in the companies history as the next year will transform Kimeera into something much bigger and self governing enabling me personally to concentrate on Stage 3 which is what all this hard work has been for...Without intentionally sounding corny, this is only achievable with amazingly talented and intelligent folk both inside Kimeera and at its periphery of which we have been very fortunate to either chance upon or gently head hunt!Long live Kimeera :-)
  • Fovia
    It Sales & Marketing Manager
    Fovia 2000 - 2005
Initially employed on £5000 a year LESS than I was earning at TDP as a commission driven photocopier and IT salesman I starting making money for my employer in month two and signed the biggest deal in it's history within 18months for over a quarter of a million pounds. Bizarrely, although I was earning a great salary, my heart was set on design and I was soon talking to my clients about the prospect of branding alongside their websites which we had begun to sell via a sub contractor.Everything changed after rebranding Belvoir! and I was set on creating a design, web & film agency within Fovia. We were barely profitable at the time but I could see the potential and wanted to grow the team faster than my employers wanted. My sales director sent me on a Carnegie Leadership in Management course and, after the second session, it was clear my future wasn't at Fovia so I left, with Eddie under my arm, and set up Kimeera :-)
  • Tdp Textiles Ltd.
    It Manager
Tdp Textiles Ltd. Jul 1995 - May 2000
Intially hired as software trainer to teach all the designers how to use Adobe software - but I was heading for a slow Summer and asked for a full time position which they agreed and, after everything was running smoothly in the studio I went on to become IT Manager.TDP is a cool company as a children's nightware licensee of the biggest brands including the likes of Disney, 007, Bob The Builder...Networked the whole company (I know...ME??!!) and dragged them into the 20th century which was pretty rewarding but I was getting itchy feet and eager to learn something new. So when the copier supplier suggested I should get into sales to earn more cash I went for it.
  • Apple Centre (Lakeland Computer Services)
    Software Trainer
Apple Centre (Lakeland Computer Services) 1993 - 1995
I loved this job! When Daniel Mitchinson gave me the great news of redundancy I bought a newspaper, found a software training vacancy down in Kendal and was offered the job within the week. Very lucky!I pretty much trained companies such as The National Trust, Carlisle United and so forth every day of the week and learned a shedload...it was only the threat of divorce from an unhappy first wife that I headed back to the midlands to find work - I know, from beautiful mountainous Cumbria to Burton on Trent...I ended up living in Burton but travelling back up to Cumbria 2-3 times a week because they didn't look for a replacement and I charged a day what I had been earning in a week. But, with loooooooooads of motorway miles - something that became an ongoing theme with me for some bloomin' reason.
  • Mitchinson Design
    Junior Designer
    Mitchinson Design 1992 - 1993
Classic one man band loft studio. My boss was grumpy, didn't encourage creativity and had a very high opinion of himself...After the second year of my HND and then this was my first experience of graphic design in the flesh! It's probably why I fled to another industry as soon as he gave me the chop...can't find his business anywhere on the web...ah well!
  • Cad Graphics
    Sign-Maker And Wannabe Designer
    Cad Graphics 1988 - 1990
This was my very first full time job after working as a waiter, cook at McDonalds and even one of those guys who shout out the number when people are waiting for a taxi at 3am on a Saturday morning!!!I did a little design and fitted the vinyl lettering for vans and signs and really loved every minute of it...My boss pretty much left me to it while he was out selling and it was only when a cool dude turned up wanting some work and I found out what a graphic designer was, that I thought about anything outside this world. My boss at Cad Graphics was the legendary salesman John Scullard who is now joining the first of hopefully many Kimeera County Outpost Resellers!! It's great to be working with him again...his energy and enthusiasm has never left me and it runs through the veins of Kimeera to this day!My first ever logo still lives on a sign above The Suite Cottage in Heath Hayes which is a chair with a roof for a back! Classic design hehe.
