Navigating the increasingly complex world of commercial & industrial LED lighting, I identified new ways for the company to grow - and took action to drive results. As a member of the senior executive leadership team, I oversaw all marketing and new business development efforts to maximize brand equity and stay ahead of the competition. Balancing the management of an inside team and outside agency vendors, my responsibilities included strategic planning, analytics, budgeting, branding/advertising/promotions/collateral (digital and print), product development, sales/distribution channel strategy, CRM, trade show/event planning, and more. Major achievements included rebranding the company (including website, and all digital/print collateral), development of brand mascot and story to launch company’s patent-pending Kelvin configuration software platform, development and launch of OEM channel brand, and launching our Amazon Business channel. I was also involved in directly targeting, nurturing, and closing deals with high-value customers and specifiers. Overall efforts contributed to revenue growth of nearly 40% within two years of hire. The company has since been acquired by ILP.

Launched in 2013, the company’s initial platform delivered a 60% response rate for its customers. Using my experience and relationships from my M2 days (see below), the buzz generated an impressive demand from advertising specialty distributors with a strong desire to resell the product.

Under my leadership, M2 led the way in bringing brand name products to the licensed and promotional products industries by forming partnerships with dozens of industry-leading brands such as Samsonite [luggage], Wilson [sporting goods], Weber [grills] and more. Targeting a network of thousands of resellers in the $22+ billion promotional products industry, I worked closely with department heads of partner brands, building strategic B2B programs to drive revenue through collegiate licensed and special markets channels.

As a co-founder, I was directly involved with every facet of the business, but my primary roles were focused on strategic partnerships, negotiating license agreements, and building/managing a team of inside and outside sales representatives to get the products onto retail shelves ranging from college bookstores to Walmart. I also built and managed the company’s e-commerce channel.
