The Pentagon

Responsible for programmatic oversight and policy development for the world's only wide area undersea surveillance system--a $4B/FYDP continuing effort. Led a small team working with Navy, interagency and international partners to maintain and expand the scope of undersea surveillance. Provided subject matter expertise to Congressional Professional Staff, Navy Leadership and leaders at all levels within the Intelligence Community.

Newport, Ri

As a member of the 34th Chief of Naval Operations (CNO) Strategic Studies Group (SSG), researched and developed concepts for the Navy's Talent Management System of the 2030's. Worked with leaders from the Navy and the other four services, industry and academia to create concepts for the future Navy. Personally developed and advocated for a general purpose artificial tutor and assessment system to revolutionize teaching and learning.

Guam

Led and directed the efforts of a staff of 70 military and civilian personnel; trained and mentored the Commanding Officers of seven nuclear powered submarines--each responsible for the safe and effective operation of the ship and the training and care of 150 Sailors and their families. Spearheaded outreach efforts with the Government of Guam and all tenant commands on Guam. Led the efforts of several agencies and Navy commands to revitalize emergency planning efforts to address risks to in-port nuclear powered vessels arising from earthquakes, tsunamis, typhoons and extended losses of electrical power. Facilitated several working groups with international allies, improving mil-mil relations and supporting new avenues of cooperation.

Pentagon

Worked with interagency, intra-agency and international partners to reduce the threat of nuclear terrorism. Also responsible for DoD participation in two major programs of international engagement.

Guam

Led all aspects of training, operation and maintenance of a nuclear fast attack submarine with 150 personnel. Executed significant maintenance periods as well as two operational cycles deploying from Guam. Expertly developed a broad spectrum of complex operational plans that were executed under stressful environments and complete autonomy. Ship received the Meritorious Unit Commendation during this time. Operated in various areas of the globe requiring interaction with foreign dignitaries.

Pearl Harbor, Hawaii

Responsible for the safe operation of the nuclear propulsion plant and all ship support systems. Trained and supervised 65 personnel on a daily basis.

Charleston, South Carolina

Responsible for the performance of 40 Navy nuclear operators in the the safe and effective operation of a nuclear power plant . Supervised and trained 40 student Navy operators through a six month training continuum.
