I'm one of two windows developers working on a new storage concept with a crew of UNIX folks. Everyone is great. It is a startup with all of the excitement and dedication of the startup atmosphere. The work is interesting. The product is exciting. Life is good.

The position focuses on inproving the quality/reducing the support costs of the Photo Center product. The metrics and actions to drive up quality were all taken after the product ships. But after arriving, I can't help but focus on pushing the drive for quality upstream. Also had groups in Lake Mary, FL. and onsite at Microsoft in Redmond, WA.Responsible for the team that developed Remote Storage, NTBackup, and Automated System Recovery for Microsoft.Responsible for the competing TeleBackup and NetBackup Professional products. Combined these two competing products into a single codebase and single development team.Reported the the Vice President of R&D.

Started as Vice President of R&D at Marino Associates. With the merger with Duquesne, accepted the position of Director Advanced Technology.Managed developers tasked with building the framework to allow Legent products to communicate across a diverse set of systems(MVS< OS/2, Windows, AIX, HP/UX, SunOS, Novell Netware) using any of a set of transport protocols(LU6.2, TCPIP, NetBIOS, IPX, DLC) internally known as Legent Communications Manager. It was the cornerstone of Legent's Cross Platform Environment (XPE) initiative.Responsible for special projects for the CEO.

When the Iranian "students" took over the US Embassy they took what they called a "US Spy Computer" out into the courtyard and executed it.2) Developed various other special configurations and products that when they became successful were turned over to manufacturing and became part of Prime's product line.Responsible for a special testing group that worked to apply queuing theory to test and improve Primos' multi-user performance.

Managed the group responsible for instrument calibration, data acquisition, data analysis for the acoustic labs.Wrote the data acquisition/calibration/conversion to engineering units software used initially on SDS-9300's, PDP-11's and then on Pr1me computers.Responsible for writing the data acquistion and reduction software for the Boeing 747 noise reduction project, the data acquisition, reduction, and analysis.

Responsible for the instrument calibration, data acquisition, conversion to engineering units, and data analysis software for 20 test facilities at NASA Langley.Worked on the Space Shuttle project.Managed a group of 12 software engineers.Wrote much of the code.Responsible for hiring, firing, performance evaluations, etc.

Managed a group of developers writing software to support the acquisition and analysis of data collected from the wind tunnel and noise reduction test facilities.Involved in the development of new ways to calculate model angle using a set of ordered rotations and remove weight tares from model balance output for the wind tunnel test facilities.
