My role at GHD is to provide support and administration of project systems including ProjectWise, OpenPlant, MicroStation and AutoPLANT for GHD's project teams primarily in Australia.One success in this role is the development of a SQL-based commodity code system that can generate unique alpha-numeric codes and descriptions for the 80,000 plus items in the catalogs used by the Oil and Gas engineering team at GHD. The catalogs are also completely standards based, where dimensional data is driven by and adheres to ASME codes such as B16.5, B16.47, B16.9, B16.11 and B16.36.Also in this role I manage ProjectWise, supporting such major projects as the Toowoomba Second Range Crossing, a $1.6bln AUD roads project, as well as various mining and oil and gas projects. Managing these systems includes the integration of ProjectWise with a number of applications including OpenPlant, AutoPLANT, MX/OpenRoads, Microsoft Office, AutoCAD and Microstation to name a few. The system also includes complex workflows, and makes use of the Rules Engine and meta data exchange. The system is fully managed with document code driven folder structures that include enforced coding based on where the user is in the folder structure.
