Scott received his BA and JD with honors from UNC Chapel Hill and practiced corporate law with a concentration in M&A before moving into a series of executive/founder roles in start-up technology and finance companies.After leaving his law practice and acting as General Counsel/COO for several internet start-ups, Scott was the Senior Director of Operations at Chela Education Financing where he launched and managed an end-to-end in-house loan origination and servicing operation. Chela's in-house lending business grew from start-up to over $850 million in annual originations before being acquired by Nelnet. Scott was the Managing Director for Zopa US, a sister company to the UK peer-to-peer lender. Scott developed the regulatory and operational strategy for launching Zopa US’s unique “social finance” structure that combined financial services with online social networking.Next, Scott was a founder and CEO of oFlows, a next-generation paperless and mobile SaaS originations platform for financial products. oFlows was acquired by Andera, the leading online originations technology company in the US. Scott remained with the combined company as Chief Product Officer and maintained responsibility for the strategy, development and delivery of the oFlows technology platform. Andera was then acquired by Bottomline Technologies, a public company focused on enterprise solutions for the banking industry (EPAY).Scott then started Socket Capital, which provides a unique set of cash flow support programs to a diverse set of technology and media companies.
