Greater Detroit Area

Led staff of 46 officers/enlisted in 5 divisions. Provided logistics services including admin/personnel, engineering, finance/supply, armory & medical to 600 military & civilians at Sector, 9 multi-mission stations, 5 District units, & 2 cutters: Administered $2M annual budget encompassing 5 accounts. Enforced policy & exercised administrative control over sub-units. Managed Sector engineering program, coordinated depot level repairs w/small boat product line & shore facility program managers.• Environmental Response Team Leader / Base Support Team Leader – (June –July 2010) Deployed to BP Deepwater Horizon oil spill response in the Gulf of Mexico and served in Logistics Section at National Incident Command Center in New Orleans, LA. - Established two Vessel Support Units (20 to 30 people each) within 2 weeks for approximately $60K in initial cost on federal and State property, providing $30 million in monthly cost savings over existing operations - Commanded 13 member team managing inventory, effecting repairs and outfitting oil skimming gear on offshore vessels while simultaneously leading 18 member team providing base support and facility management across four states and services to all 27 Coast Guard ships responding to the oil spill• Initiated an organizational redesign and implemented business process changes; maintained 98% medical readiness level; increased college enrollment by 500%; outstanding compliance inspection results • Administered $2.8 million annual budget; tightened funds management procedures, creating more structured budget build and allocation; increased transparency and ownership; achieving close out each fiscal year to 99.8% and improved budget metrics scores from 65% to 95% in first year
