Coordinated with the Executive Staff (Secretary, Deputy Secretary, Assistant Secretaries, and Chief ofStaff) as well as the Directors, to provide support to the Deputy Secretary, to prepare meeting briefings, prepare talking points, prepare memorandums and executive correspondence, prepare meeting minutes and presentations, review proposed legislation and potential impacts on transportation, prepare responses to customer and elected official inquiries, participate on hiring panels, prepare and distribute reports, and provide audit responses. Also notably led efficiency improvements the Minority Business Enterprise Program. Duties also included meeting with elected officials and their staff, to discuss legislation impacting transportation; attending and presenting at community outreach events for transportation projects; and meeting with Administrators and staff at MDOT’s agencies (Transportation Authority, Airport Administration, Port Authority, State Highway Administration,Motor Vehicles Administration, and Transit Administration) to discuss projects and initiatives. Securityclearances obtained: State facilities, TSA (BWI Airport) and Coast Guard (Port of Baltimore) access.Provided mediation and facilitation services to assist with employment disputes, lead community outreach meetings, and to lead employee training sessions. Also utilized these skills as a member of MDOT’s negotiation team, for the successful compliance mitigation settlement, between the Maryland Transit Administration (MTA) and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to resolve underground fuel tank issues at MTA facilities.Participated on key initiatives and committees, including Chair of MDOT’s Limited English Proficiency (Title VI) Committee to ensure full compliance and lead employee training, the Governor’s Grants Committee, the Secretary of State’s International Affairs Committee, and the MTA’s Customer Service Ambassadors program.
