I’m a veteran trial lawyer, commercial litigator, and corporate investigator. I defend product liability actions and handle all manner of business to business disputes, including contract claims, joint ventures, shareholder disputes, and securities litigation. I’ve been lead counsel on cases in state and federal courts in a total of 36 states in every region of the country and won jury verdicts for my clients as both a defendant and a plaintiff.I’ve also led or managed two major Special Litigation Committee investigations for Fortune 500 companies responding to shareholder derivative claims of malfeasance by officers and directors involving alleged violations of securities and antitrust laws, FDA regulations, breaches of fiduciary duty. in addition, I’ve assisted companies in responding to governmental civil investigations involving consumer lending practices and health care systems and I’ve also represented health care systems in matters involving internal investigations related to physician credentialing.I’m a former Division I college athlete and coach, so not surprisingly, I practice law guided by the principles instilled in me through a lifetime of athletic training and competition – commitment, tenacity, teamwork, accountability, respect, and loyalty.In addition, I’m a Qualified Neutral under Rule 114 of the Minnesota General Rules of Practice for both adjudicative and facilitative dispute resolution. My more than three decades of trial and litigation experience make me a particularly effective arbitrator and mediator, assisting litigants and their counsel in resolving disputes short of trial via voluntary or court-ordered Alternative Dispute Resolution.
