Scott joined Cubic to assist with the formation of the portfolio of variations work that has been requested following the rollout of the base program. This Variations portfolio consists of 21 projects to be delivered over 18 months. While at Cubic, Scott took on responsibility for the delivery of all software engineering-based back-office projects within the variation’s portfolio.To deliver the portfolio, Scott mobilised development and sub-contract teams in Sydney, Perth and the UK. In addition to the delivery responsibilities, Scott also put in place a release management process across the Software Engineering, Systems Engineering and Testing teams moving part of the Engineering function to deliver using an Agile (Scrum) approach for key program delivery. Key achievements:• Formation, prioritisation, and road map scheduling of the Variations programme of work• Formation of a release management strategy (based on 2 monthly releases) and subsequent recruitment of a Release Manager to drive process implementation.• Introduced Agile (Scrum) framework to Cubic Sydney and utilised it to successfully deliver a key project for the OPAL system• Key projects managed: - Open API – Deliver capability for the OPAL back-end system to be consumed by Mobile devices and other third party systems - Tertiary Concession cards – Development and launch of Tertiary Concession based cards for the OPAL platform
