Organized group of Colorado ski resort leaders in 1972 with the Aspen Institute to address affordable housing. The outcome of the gathering was the idea of "deed restrictions" which allow communities to build and cause to be built residential units for both rental and ownership housing that are in perpetuity. Saul Wurman was the Chairman and the gathering morphed into what we now know as TED.

Conde Naste magazines has recognized Telluride as the best ski resort community in the world so many times, we have retired the trophy.

Nunn who joined forces with Nikola Tesla and George Westing house built the world's first alternating current power plant in Telluride in 1891. Following the success in Telluride, Tesla and Westinghouse demonstrated AC Power next to DC Power in the 1893 World's Fair in Chicago which was attended by more than 20 million people. In a much publicized competition the people voted that they approved of AC over DC and directly because of the demonstration and vote, Nikola Tesla was awarded the right to build a huge AC power plant at Niagara Falls which supplied power to the Northeast of the United States at a critical time in the Industrial Revolution in the world and America went on a few years later to demonstrate that industrial might in WWI and the rest is history.

ET3 is literally "Space Travel on Earth". ET3 is silent, low cost, safe, faster than jets, and is electric.ET3 stands for Evacuated Tube Transport Technologies. The company et3.com Inc. is an open consortium of licensees dedicated to global implementation of Evacuated Tube Transport (ETT). Our immediate focus is to finalize the location to build a production ready demonstration of ET3 to operate at 600km/h (375mph)++. The ET3 demo requires 3 miles of straight right-of-way, and will showcase all elements necessary to network ET3 on a regional basis.

Formed working partnership with Bill Card of Eastman Kodak, and Bill Pence to launch the Telluride Film Festival. The first year's honorees were Francis Ford Coppola, Gloria Swanson, and Leni Reifenstal. Thirty seven years later Telluride has claim to be the most important film festival in the world.As the Chairman and founder of the Telluride Council for the Arts and Humanities we established an event that showcased great film and story telling with arts, cultural and educational programs that allowed movie and film producer, directors, writers and cinematographers to work, teach and inspire local children and community members with the joy of making movies. Each year a number of local and visiting people are chosen for in depth and hands on tutoring and mentoring from some of Hollywood's best. Mountainfilm is dedicated to providing a venue for adventure, educational, environmental and home made films. My original board was Chip Kamin, Yvon Chouinard, Henry Barber, Michael Kennedy, Lito Flores, Royal Robbins, and Bob Craig. Our honorees included a who is who of mountain adventure including Sir Edmund Hilary who I had the honor and pleasure of hiking Bear Creek with on a nice sunny Spring day.

Purchased the Bank of Telluride in 1978 with local group when it was clear that the "only bank in town" would not loan money to the new locals who came to build the best ski resort and community in the world. Made loans to all of my friends and we built Telluride. Six years later the bank was rated the number one bank in the country for return on assets by the FDIC.

Founder and Publisher of Telluride first and only full color magazine. Way ahead of its time, but very successful and going strong today.

Award winning local newspaper in Telluride during its early years. We won every award offered by the Colorado Press Association and led our community from ghost town to a center for arts, entertainment, nature, learning and open minded-ness.Our enemy was mediocrity--we raised the bar.

Formed and served on SMC's first P&Z, initiated county Master Plan and zoning, established Telluride Regional Advisory Planning Commission that planned and zoned the Telluride Region including the Telluride Ski Resort and surrounding region. Planned and Zoned the Telluride Mountain Village, incubated, zoned and financed the Telluride Airport.As part of starting from "no zoning" we created TREPAC (Telluride Regional Planning Advisory Commission) which had five members from the development community representing the five major landowners (Town of Telluride, Ski Resort, Valley Floor, West Meadows and Aldasoro) and produced the blueprint and dream of the future of Telluride which included gondola linked transportation from Town to Mountain Village; Mountain Village to Valley Floor; Valley Floor to West Meadows; West Meadows to Aldasoro; and Aldasoro to Valley Floor. It was agreed that the total build out of the Telluride Region would be 15,000 in the year 2020 and 15% would be deed restricted affordable housing with both rental and ownership opportunities for full time locals.

In 1972, the Telluride Ski Resort was born and Telluride rose from the depths of a mining ghost town. The most important and probably hardest part of re-birthing a town is the arts, culture, music and interesting people recruitment. TCAH was the beginning of one of the most successful productions in current history and is the umbrella organization for the Telluride Bluegrass Festival; Telluride Film Festival; Telluride Chamber Music Festival; Tellluride Mountainfilm; Telluride Tech Festival; Telluride Tesla Festival; Telluride Jazz Festival; Telluride New Year's Festival; Imogene Pass Race.

In 1973 in conjunction with the 4th of July Celebration I built a stage, hired a band--that happened to be a Bluegrass Band and we put on a show. The next year we started charging and now 37 years later it is still going strong. Many of the most successful bands and musicians in the world got their start at Telluride.
