Strategic Isv Pursuit Lead

Redmond, Washington, Us

I built strategic partnerships with some of Australia's most strategic investment funds and industry incubators (eg CSIRO ON); to build a pipeline of ISVs that drove Microsoft growth, whilst decreasing investor risk.Whilst engaging the investor community, I developed Microsofts value proposition, offering and GTM play, which I then presented to CEOs, fund managers, family offices and high-net-worth individuals with billions under management. The importance of this work was recognized at the highest levels of Microsoft, with Satya Nadella hosting an event for high potentials in Australia, and other members of the global SLT providing time with investment funds on a regular cadence. At the same time I launched the APAC part of a global pilot for Microsofts ISV Connect program. This program developing their marketplace sales engine (scale play) & rev-share digital-partner-model. To do this I provided regular input of the commercial reality of the program to its owners, shaping the value prop; fleshing out the terms of the rev-share and increasing the relevance of the incentives structures offered. To get this program moving I also helped recruit participant ISVs, mentored them through the process, position them with the sales team. My input led to a number of refinements to the global model and helped it evolve into what it is today.

Co-Founder

Listm.Net

Listm.net was my first attempt at running my own business. Listm.net was a site dedicated to the automated arbitrage of buying and selling Google advertising. From a shaky start, our initial investment was returned after 6 weeks of operation, after which we experienced increasing revenues and profits. After about 4 to 5 months of operating Google altered its algorithm to the detriment of our site which saw these revenues dry up over night. With much effort we continued to rebuild our revenue flows only to have Google alter its algorithm on a number of occasions. After six months we reviewed and decided that the opportunity we were playing to was more a hobby than a sustainable business. At our peak we were in the top 100,000 of the Alexa rankings, and were in the enviable position of earning revenue as we slept. The lessons that came from this experience were invaluable as they taught me:1. That it is possible to earn money beyond normal employment2. To be successful a business should not be dependant on a single revenue source3. When developing a business within someone elses ecosystem you are limited to their rules4. The best businesses own the relationship with the customerAnd many others...
