I’m an award-winning designer, illustrator, 2D animator and creative lead with over twenty years’ experience working in the digital sector. I’ve worked successfully on UX and UI, character design, animated videos, small games design, digital branding, corporate digital design and illustration. Having worked on a vast variety of large and small-scale projects within commercial and educational industries and with teams of various sizes and skill bases, I can tailor my working to leading the creative vision on large corporate sites as well as small interactives.I've worked at various fast-paced agencies during my career catering to many high profile clients including the BBC, ITV, EE, Granada Media, Barbour, NHS, The Open University, Goldsmiths University and Northern Powergrid. And the client list for Scott Tyrrell Design is already expanding very fast.My philosophy for creating solid, useful work involves 3 areas of consideration: Empathy for your audience and an understanding of how to communicate with them, an overarching appreciation for the classic rules of composition and design, and lateral or sideways thinking resulting in ideas that surprise and challenge audience expectations.The rest of the time I’m an award-winning performance poet and author of three collections of poetry and previous winner of the BBC Poetry Slam and UK Anti-Slam. I occasionally run writing workshops for local poets and writers.
