About Steve Porter

With over 20 years in the IT industry, mostly servicing the Education field, I now manage a highly effective IT infrastructure and team serving 13 regional campuses, 2500 students, 350 faculty and staff members in all aspects of Information Technology. I've migrated voice systems from PBX to VoIP networks, designed and implemented a high availability SDWan private cloud servicing our intercampus data needs, implement a wireless network to serve the student body and classroom needs, project management of simple classroom retro fits to entirely new campuses built from the bottom up as well as maintaining a high guest/user satisfaction rating on our day to day operations all while lowering costs.I understand the intricacies of IT and troubleshooting issues that arise and especially enjoy teaching others how to be better at their task. One of the lessons I learned from being part of the Disney Management team was that it is our job as leaders to ensure our staff has more tools (knowledge) in their tool bag as they grow in their positions than when they arrived. Education is key in the growth of a staff member and a department.
