About Shannon Walsh

Hi LinkedIn, I’m looking forward to connecting with you! Here’s a bit about me and my background.π…π‘πŽπŒ π‚πŽπ‹π‹π„π†π„ π“πŽ π„π€π‘π‹π˜ 𝐂𝐀𝐑𝐄𝐄𝐑 πŸ“šπŸ’ΌI grew up outside of New York City with my older sister. My mom was a psychologist in employee assistance programs and my father was in corporate talent management and leadership development, so I was naturally drawn to people operations. I studied linguistics and cognitive science at Pomona College, spent a semester abroad in France, and worked in the Career Development Office during the school year while interning over summers in corporate campus recruiting. 𝐓𝐀𝐋𝐄𝐍𝐓 πŒπ€ππ€π†π„πŒπ„ππ“ 𝐀𝐓 𝐁𝐂𝐆 🌟After graduation, I landed my first full-time role with Boston Consulting Group, supporting their undergraduate campus recruiting efforts. After several years there, I moved over to Staffing and Talent Management, first in a local role in the New York office supporting entry-level cohorts, then in a regional role supporting talent management across North America. In 2019, I moved to LA with my husband. While at BCG, I developed and implemented a standardized curriculum for the onboarding of Talent Managers, including training on the proprietary software platform with cross-functional connections to Finance, L&D, Mobility, and other internal functions. I delivered 1:1 and group onboarding sessions for 75 new Talent Managers and led the Remote Work Response Team, assessing potential tax and immigration risks at the individual and firm level for employees seeking to work and travel abroad, fielding 500 requests over 2 years. I drove the first-ever initiative to centralize intern staffing for a group of over 900 interns, locating developmentally appropriate roles on active project teams, optimizing talent deployment across priority client accounts, and ensuring an appropriate distribution of balanced resources.𝐋𝐄𝐓'𝐒 π‚πŽπππ„π‚π“ 𝐎𝐍 π‹πˆππŠπ„πƒπˆπ 🌎In 2022, BCG established a new virtual office system focused on Climate and Sustainability, and I was thrilled to be one of the first members of its Talent Management team. Since 2023, I’ve been supporting my father through some health issues and now ready to get back to work!If you’re looking to chat with an experienced talent manager who excels in employee relations and bridges the gaps between hiring, onboarding, training, and performance, then I’d love to get connected on LinkedIn.Thanks for reading my story,Shannon
