• Managed campus services related to classroom technology, presentation technology, event support, videoconferences, digital streaming media, and commencements on AUC’s newly constructed campus that served hundreds of faculty and thousands of students.• In less than two years, I was promoted to be Director of two campuses plus two satellite branches after demonstrating my effectiveness in setting up the new campus instructional and event technology with limited staff, time, and budget.• Helped shape campus policies by serving on various committees involving event management, computer purchasing, student conduct, and sustainability. • Was awarded a $936,000 USAID Grant to implement 101 new technology-equipped classrooms on the American University in Cairo’s New Cairo, Tahrir Square, and Zamalek campuses that expanded the number of technology teaching spaces by 65% and served 5,600 undergraduate and graduate students plus thousands of new continuing education learners each year.• Lead technology designer on a team comprised of AUC professors and US peers on the design and build of an innovative active learning classroom – possibly the first in an institute of higher education in the Middle East/North Africa region.

Center Coordinator, Teaching & Learning Technologies Center, 2002 – 2008• Responsible for Center procurement including evaluating and purchase of hardware like scanners, video capture tools, computers, monitors, and backup devices; software such as Adobe’s suite of tools or those of Macromedia for instructional content; infrastructure such as network switches and cabling for connectivity. • Led the design of the new Center for Innovative Teaching and Learning space in the east tower of the Herman B Wells library. • Cut expenses by 30% for the Center by utilizing existing resources and building partnerships across campus.• Hired, trained, and supervised nearly 50 hourly student workers over the span of six years.• Maintained Windows and Macintosh workstations and servers for staff and client instructors and improved Center efficiency by providing onsite technical support rather than having to contact UITS and wait for a support provider.Instructional Designer & Consultant, Teaching & Learning Technologies Center, 1997 – 2002• Provided instructional and technical support and advice to faculty in support of their teaching goals in the classroom and online.• Developed and conducted training for Indiana University faculty that improved campus adoption of resources like Windows Media Player and Apple’s QuickTime for video production at zero cost. • Provided web development support for faculty in the use of Indiana University’s online web hosting. Within the Masters program, I learned about the analysis and development of processes, systems and services to support instruction and training.During my time there, I worked with the pharmaceutical company, Eli Lilly to help develop an "on boarding" program; to quickly bring new employees up to the required level of competency and general knowledge within weeks rather than months or years.I also had the pleasure of working on an analysis project at Brown-Forman Corporation. Our team's goal was to analyze an existing training program and determine areas of weakness and give recommendations for improvement.One of the personal benefits from this degree has resulted in my ability to effectively manage projects within my current job as the Director of Classroom Technologies and Media Services. I am better able to analyze the full scope of a project or task, understand all of the needs and components, effectively plan the steps and outcomes, and pursue the completion of the project.
