Sean Brewer has an impressive professional background in software engineering, system administration, and data management. His guiding mantra has been "do good while building cool stuff." This philosophy has taken Sean to some fascinating places, both urban and rural. In urban spaces, Sean was a leader in the creation of the City of Chattanooga's first open data policy. He facilitated the opening of public data in Chattanooga, and helped build out a public gigabit lab in a Smithsonian-recognized public library makerspace. In rural spaces, he has been a major player in development of award-winning software that has made the coverage of broadband wider and more robust in rural communities across the nation. Sean helped lead NRTC's software effort for the FCC Phase I Rural Digital Opportunities Fund (RDOF) auction that won eligibility for $156 million dollars in funding.A native of Northwest Georgia, Sean is active in his local tech community where he leads workshops and gives talks on advances in the world of development. Sean's local affiliations include the CHUGALUG Linux/UNIX user group, the Chadev community, and the Devanooga developer community. Sean is also a professional musician and performs on guitar and bass in jazz combos, big bands, weddings, and church groups.
