Executive Officer
CurrentIIFA is a representative body for over 130 Irish Freight Forwarding and Customs Brokerage businesses. The Association is run by a Council of Volunteers from the Membership and also two full time Staff Members including myself. In addition to representation of Member’s concerns, IIFA also offers training in Freight Forwarding via the international recognized FIATA Diploma in Freight Forwarding. My role within the Association is wide reaching and continuously adapts as new challenges present themselves; from organising the Moodle interface for online learning, writing to Government Bodies on behalf of the Membership, delivering practical instruction on completion of Customs Declarations and more.As Ireland's National Association Member of CLECAT and FIATA, I represent IIFA at these international Freight Forwarding and Customs Broker meetings and report back to IIFA Council. I am presently responsible for coordinating, updating and delivering IIFA's Customs Clearance and Practical Customs Declaration Completion training course. During 2016, I was part of the Local Organising Committee to organise the 2016 FIATA World Congress in Dublin, an event which attracted over 700 International Delegates from the Freight Forwarding and Supply Chain industries. As the FIATA Coordinator I was responsible for communicating with FIATA's different Advisory Body Managers in preparation for their programme sessions, in addition to work with the sponsorship & sales and marketing teams. In May 2017, I was made an Honourary Member of the Association for the work invested in preparing for this event.
