Helped to co-found a student organization within the Sapphire Leadership Academic Program at the Smeal College of Business whose main goal is to help usher in the next generation of Smeal students. The organization is tasked with providing tours of the business building to prospective students, their families, as well as VIP alumni and donors, participating in presentations and discussion with accepted students at pertinent events, and speaking at informational panels in front of prospective students and their families. By showcasing all that Smeal and Penn State have to offer and sharing personal stories of how our members have excelled in their 4 short years here, we provide a personal and intimate channel for aspiring Smeal students and their families to not only learn all there is about the college and university, but imagine themselves there in the near future.

Sapphire is a program comprised of the top 50 students in Smeal for each academic year and focuses on developing the leadership skills of its members through seminars and events with alumni and industry professionals, dedicated classes, community involvement, and various team-building activities. I have also had the opportunity to be a mentor to other Sapphire students throughout my time here.As the Smeal Relations captain, I am in charge of leading the Smeal Ambassadors program and facilitating tours and participation at new student events. I am also helping to pioneer the external visibility of Sapphire with strategic corporate partners by working with Sapphire students, staff, and advisors to identify what the features and benefits of the program are, how the program helps students functionally and emotionally, and what the core brand position of the program is and communicate this information to corporate partners and the business community.

Smeal Student Mentors is an organization that specializes in connecting incoming first-year students with passionate and experienced upperclassmen to help ease the transition from high school to a big univeristy such as Penn State. I have the opportunity to be a mentor to approximately 50 first-year students throughout my time with the organization, during which I've been able to share my experiences and insights so that my mentees can maximize their time here at the University.

I helped to pioneer an entrepreneurship program for members of the Eastern Atlantic States carpenters' union. I created an additional questionnaire that would gauge the specific niche of interest and would provide a more accurate gauge for necessary minimum savings before starting their business. This questionnaire would then work in-tandem with a startup cost and funding runway template that I created so the entrepreneurs can estimate the length of their Valley of Death. I also created templates for 12-month and 10-year financial projections where they would type in a few assumptions and all three financial statements would be outputted. Based on those assumptions, as well as a comparable public company, the template also provided a DCF and SDE valuation of the business. Another project that I completed was a 200-slide financial literacy presentation so advisors could pick and choose slides based on the event that they are presenting at. This presentation included topics ranging from how butter and hogs are historically better hedges against inflation than gold to asset protection strategies from creditors. Additionally, I pitched a digital marketing strategy to the advisors so they could generate organic leads from their online presence through SEO and SMM and included a cost-benefit analysis and minimum number of conversions in order for the campaign to be profitable based on the cost of the 3rd party professional and the firm's current fee structure.

Themain project for the summer was to go through every trust account that was opened since the beginning of 2020 and ensure that all of the assets within those accounts are properly valued, classified, and stored within our systems in preparation for the Delaware Bank Commissioner Office's examination. My work that summer helped the firm receive a perfect score on that examination. I also had the distinct opportunity of going through and learning the various investment strategies for the directed trust accounts from the director of investments. Additionally, my colleagues and I conducted market research to identify any potential centers of influence for trusts and estates by looking at the growth trend of different law firms that specialize in trust and estate across the country. At the end of the summer, I was given an opportunity to present all deliverables to various members of the executive team and other firm leadership.
