Sean Abbott is an experienced trial attorney. A former felony criminal prosecutor, he is equipped to handle many legal matters, ranging from civil disputes to criminal jury trials. Sean is not afraid of competition and always advocates for his client, while remaining professional, respectful, and courteous. Sean is a 2005 graduate from the University of Findlay with a Bachelor of Science degree in Small Business and Entrepreneurship. During his junior year in 2004, Sean founded and operated the small business AE Curbside, bringing Findlay its first successful curbside recycling service. After multiple years working in private business, Sean enrolled in the University of Dayton School of Law to pursue his lifelong dream of becoming an attorney. At UDSL Sean served on the law review as a staff writer and comment editor, and won three CALI awards for receiving the highest grade in class. During law school, Sean had the distinct honor to serve as a law clerk with the United States District Court for the Southern District of Ohio, serving for the Hon. Thomas M. Rose. In this position, Sean researched and assisted the federal judge to resolve pending cases before the Court and drafted multiple opinions and decisions of the Court. Sean then clerked with the U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of Ohio. He assisted in the preparation and prosecution of federal criminal cases. From these experiences was borne Sean’s love and respect for the courtroom.Sean accepted his first legal employment with Peelle Law Offices in Wilmington, Ohio. Sean was introduced to many areas of the civil practice of law, assisting clients in civil litigation, estate and business planning, and transactional matters. Sean left Peelle on good terms to pursue his passion for the courtroom to accept a position as an Assistant Prosecuting attorney in Fayette County, Ohio where he and his family resided. In Fayette County, Sean prosecuted juvenile delinquencies, abuse, neglect, and dependency cases, and adult felonies, ascending to the position of Chief Assistant Prosecuting Attorney. As Chief Assistant, Sean was responsible for the prosecution of adult felony cases, civil matters, and working with the County Commissioners and Township Trustees. Sean has prosecuted numerous jury trials and adjudicatory hearings, securing convictions for matters ranging from drug trafficking, breaking and entering, aggravated robbery, and sexual assault. In July 2021, Sean and his family returned home to Hancock County, where they currently reside.
