For more than 60 years,they’ve supported the backbone of Australia’s health system by setting the standards for educationand practice and advocating for better health and wellbeing for all Australians. As an activecouncil member, I am involved in most areas of the faculty, with a focus on education, advocacy,strategic direction and stakeholder liaison.Key Achievements:• Actively involved in the organisation and running of the WA Faculty of the RACGP.• Representing the needs of 3,800 GPs in WA.• Regularly meeting with stakeholders, including the Health Minister, Health DepartmentOfficials, AMA WA, and WAPHA.

As WA Chair of the RACGP WA Faculty, I was responsible for chairing faculty meetings, leading theFaculty and the services that the RACGP provides to the 3,800 members in WA. This includesadvocacy, education, stakeholder liaison, media appearances and policy development.Key Achievements:• Successfully coordinated the primary care response to COVID-19 with the Health Minister,Director General of Health, AMA (WA) and WAPHA with initial weekly meetings.• Advocated for members' needs with all internal and external stakeholders.• Conducted regular media interviews, and particularly during the COVID-19 vaccine rollout.• Established the RACGP WA COVID WhatsApp Group for rapid dissemination of COVID relatedinformation, the first of its kind nationally.• Ensured the timely access of patients and GPs to COVID-19 vaccinations.

The Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP) is the professional body for GeneralPractitioners (GPs) in Australia . The RACGP is responsible for maintaining standards for qualityclinical practice, education and training, as well as research in the Australian general practice.The RACGP represents over 43,000 members across metropolitan, urban, rural and remote Australia.It also develops resources and guidelines, advocates for GPs on issues that affect their practice,and develops standards that general practices use to ensure high-quality healthcare.Key Achievements:• Member of Finance and Risk Management Committee• Member of People, Culture, Remuneration and Nominations Committee• Oversaw the national budget for the RACGP.• Successfully monitored and managed various types of risk for the organisation.• Recruited and onboarded a new CEO.• Oversaw cultural transformation at a strategic level.• Set the strategic direction for the RACGP, as well as its 430 employees and 43,000 members.• Commenced the transition to profession-led training, where the RACGP would assumeresponsibility for 90% of GP trainees.• Managed the strategic direction for the RACGP to pivot during COVID-19.• Took on the role of Convenor and Chair of the Program Committee for GP20, the RACGP'sfirst fully digital national conference.

Along with the Chair Tim Koh, I was involved in the day to day strategic direction and running of the WA Faculty of the College. Also intimately involved in the preparation and planning of the RACGP national conference in Perth in September 2016.

Responsible for co-ordinating and delivering the College of GPs education program for WA.

Dr Mary Wyatt and I started Next Practice Victoria Park in September 2019, focussed on a positive workplace culture and empowering patients in their health journey. Key Achievements:• Won Victoria Park's best new business.• Growing from two to twelve GPs in three years.• Exponentially growing turnover and profit throughout my time in the role.• State Finalist for the Telstra Business of the Year Awards.

I am one of the founders, owners and podcasters on The Good GP, Australia's highest rating GP podcast, achieving up to 11,000 downloads per episode.

Victoria Park Respiratory Clinic supported the local community and GP clinics to help prevent andcounter COVID-19. It provided free assessment and treatment of people with respiratory symptoms(cough, cold, sore throat, runny nose, trouble breathing) in a secure and safe environment,separate from the general public.Key Achievements:• Vaccinated 50,000 people against COVID-19, more than any other private clinic in Australiaat that time.• Seen, assessed and treated over 7,800 people for COVID-like symptoms.• Developed a highly agile clinic that can respond rapidly to changes in circumstances,guidelines and COVID-19 booster demand.

I was involved in establishing the "Business of General Practice Network" in 2016 as a specific interest group of the RACGP. I was elected unopposed as the inaugural chair of this national network, and I have raised the profile and attractiveness of general practice ownership and the sharing of information between practice owners.Key Achievements• Established the first national network of private GP owners.• Convened the first-ever Practice Owners National Conference with 800 delegates, more than five times the initial estimates.• Galvanised private practice owners around issues affecting the business of General Practice.• Provided mentoring for younger GPs considering practice ownership.

Supervises all GP registrars coming through Mead Medical Group. Was awarded GPET Australian Supervisor of the Year in 2004.

Kalamunda Wa

I was in charge of the training of registrars on the WAGPET training program at Mead Medical. I have also been closely involved in the running of the practice and in the construction of our new premises in Kalamunda. Along with the rest of the team this saw us awarded the RACGP 2013 Australian General Practice of the Year.
