Someone once said the best journeys have unexpected detours. They could have been describing my life and career. I graduated with a degree in chemical engineering from the University of Colorado but my first job after college was as a developer at Accenture. I spent a decade developing and delivering packaged and custom business technology solutions and deeply technical activities when my journey took another turn. Perhaps it was because I come from a family of teachers, but I pivoted from application development and I started helping organizations use modern platforms, Cloud, and analytics to overcome challenges, discover solutions and create a culture of constant, positive change.I have enjoyed every minute of this journey from developer to strategic advisor. It has taken me to places like China, the Philippines, and Saudi Arabia where I have helped build businesses from the ground up. And it has brought me back to the US and Silicon Valley, where I work with the world’s leading technology companies as they continuously reinvent themselves for a world that will look vastly different tomorrow than it does today.Technology is in my DNA. As the Lead for Technology Strategy & Advisory in North America (West) at Accenture, I have a front-row seat for the digital revolution that is transforming how we live. Whether I am helping organizations transform their business, operating model, technology architecture, or culture; it is a privilege to collaborate with incredible colleagues, partners, and clients.It is a time where my greatest challenge is convincing people to embrace the new and unfamiliar—to welcome the unexpected detour—and it is my greatest reward when they do. Outside of work, I spend time in the forests and mountains of northern California, where I enjoy sports like snowboarding and mountain biking.
