I assist clients with obtaining patent, trademark, and copyright protection in the U.S. and abroad. I also assert and defend intellectual property infringement matters through litigation; enforce rights in trade secrets and domain names; resolve disputes outside of litigation; and negotiate license and settlement agreements. I also advise and represent clients for Post Grant Review and Inter Partes Review patent proceedings before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board as well as for opposition and cancelation proceedings before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board. Drawing from that broad experience, I aim to meet my client’s goals in a candid, proficient, and cost-effective manner. I particularly enjoy helping small to mid-sized companies and startups with their intellectual property needs. I received my undergraduate degree in Fluid and Thermal Engineering from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio and my J.D. from Loyola Law School in Los Angeles. I am admitted to the California State Bar, the Oregon State Bar, the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California, the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California, the U.S. District Court for the District of Oregon, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, and the United States Patent and Trademark Office. While attending Loyola Law School, I was a member of the intellectual property moot court team and was Chief Production Editor of the Loyola of Los Angeles Law Review. I was also named to the Dean’s Honor List and received the First Honors Award for the highest grade in Trademark Law.Before becoming a lawyer, I worked as a design engineer and project engineer at an aerospace company, where I designed, tested, and manufactured electro-hydraulic antiskid brake control valves. I also worked in the automotive industry with door seal and wiring harness technologies. I enjoy watching my daughter discover the world, skiing, hiking, live music, watching soccer, and learning to play the guitar.
