I am a student of Mathematics at the University of British Columbia, with a particular interest in software development and applied math.Professional Experience:I recently completed an internship as a full stack web developer for an online motorcycle rental platform based in Valencia. Through this internship I gained valuable knowledge and capability with server-side web design, working with a stack consisting of PHP and MySQL, on the backend, and HTML, CSS, and JavaScript on the frontend. I quickly learned the skills I needed to succeed in this environment and was able to take on and complete a multitude of various tasks ranging from bug fixes, new page and feature additions, and security patches. Through this experience, I discovered my excitement and passion for software development and the possibilities for endless learning and self improvement that it offers. Through my diverse work experiences, I have also developed: professional self management skills, an understanding of various workplace cultures and professional environments, and a strong intercultural awareness and capacity for cooperation and inclusivity.Education:Aside from web development technology, I have strong foundational knowledge in object-oriented programming principles and software architecture, with experience in Java and Python. I am consistently developing this knowledge as an active member of a UBC student design team, which is building an autonomous sailboat. Currently, I am developing a module for obstacle representation and analysis, for use in the boat’s pathfinding algorithm.I also have prior education and design experience in Mechanical Engineering, at BCIT as well as a completed capstone project in partnership with Bosch Rexroth.
