Studied soil isolates to test for antibiotic properties to fight antibiotic resistance. Learned valuable skills such as gram staining and bacterial sequencing. Presented research at the University of Dayton Stander Symposium. Worked alongside graduate student under Dr. Yvonne Sun. Founder and President of Flyers Against Antibiotic Resistance, which serves to educate the campus community about the uses and misuses of antibiotic medications. Currently leads around 20 students that conduct in-lab research to study antibiotic resistant bacteria from five different places on campus (Fall 2017-Present).

Investigated the progression of Alzheimer’s Disease in fruit flies. Worked alongside graduate students under Dr. Amit Singh to learn proper dissection and mounting techniques of fruit flies. Imaged 3rd instar larvae eye imaginal discs under a confocal microscope to detect presence of Alzheimer’s Disease in a fruit fly. Presented research posters on the “Two clone system to study cell-cell communication between wild type and Alzheimer’s cells” at 2017 & 2018 University of Dayton Stander Symposium. Also had the opportunity to participate in the University of Dayton, College of Arts and Sciences Dean's Summer Fellowship, conducting research in Dr. Amit Singh’s lab to study Alzheimer’s Disease using a research protocol called the Two Clone System. Participated in team building, networking, and professional development activities with the other research fellows. Presented my research at the University of Dayton Summer Symposium.
