As projects coordinator, I oversaw the outreach of six formerly homeless individuals who distributed resources at community locations. I planned special events with coalition partners to support shared goals, helped facilitate monthly Generation 50+ Group Meetings, a program of Open Access Connections, and maintained a record of voicemail numbers in one large database

As an outreach specialist, my job is to ensure people have basic phone services to connect them with employment opportunities, housing, or assistance applying for government, health care, or other social services. These connections, achieved through basic voice mail, enhance dignity and independence which contributes to success. I monitor our voice mail system, sign up new clients with at homeless shelters and drop-in centers in the Twin Cities and at special events across the State of Minnesota, and keep other organizations in the Twin Cities Metro Area up to date with our voice mail system and their clients that have voice mails in our system. I also do consumer watch-dog research on government subsidized Lifeline Phone program assuring these companies are held accountable for basic phone services they provide to low-income people across the state.
