Developed in July of 2019, Roy G. Bivens is a humorous nickname and pseudonym for Mitchell based on the colors of the rainbow and Sean's incredible will to match his clothing from head to toe, including accessories such as sunshades, armbands and socks. He occasionally goes on stage at venues performing under the pseudonym as Roy G. Bivens or Roy G. Biv' for short.

I've always loved to research topics related to skyscrapers and urban planning. I'm currently active on at least one notable website that focuses on Skyscrapers and Urban Planning. He also hosts a Houston meetup group for those who love the top via Meetup.com.

The Bay Area Writers League is a network and association of writers (journalist, authors, etc...) who live in the Houston area sub-region of Clear Lake or places nearby, such as Texas City/La Marque and Galveston.

Poetry-Leaves is an indoor and outdoor exhibition in Waterford, Michigan. Mitchell's original poem, entitled 'Recycle" was chosen for the May 2019 exhibition and his poem "25 Forever" seems likely to be chose for the 2020 exhibition.

In early 2019, Mr. Mitchell sought to expand his diverse skill set by taking photographs. He did so well early on that he was added on to Getty Images list of contributors/freelancers and some of his photos appear in the library of IStock's photography website.

Mr. Mitchell has enjoyed singing his entire life but only in recent years began singing regularly. Now preparing to become a professional singer, he has been known to sing karaoke at venues throughout the Houston area. Some of his past venues include Reno's, pier 27 (now closed, in the South Shore Harbor Area of League City, TX), RJ's (inside the America's Best Value in La Marque, TX), B. Jiggers (inside the Holiday inn on Seawalll Blvd in Galveston), Soundbar (Galveston, TX), Playground (on The Strand in Galveston, TX), The Cockeyed Seagull Bar & Grill (Houston but effectively Webster, TX) and Spotlight Karaoke (Downtown Houston).Some of the best songs he performs include Charlene (Anthony Hamilton), Rock Your Body (Justin Timberlake), Smooth (Carlos Santana featuring Rob Thomas), Butterflies (Michael Jackson), Don't Stop Til' You Get Enough (Michael Jackson), Girlfriend (NSYNC featuring Justin Timberlake) Ffun (Con Func Shun), Quiet Groove (Paul Hardcastle), Never Stop (The Brand New Heavies featuring N'Dea Davenport) and many more.

Sean has volunteered at various pantry and food distribution events for the charity, including at United Methodist Church (League City), Greater St. Matthews Baptist Church (Hitchcock, TX), Heroes Without Capes (at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Galveston), New Macedonia Baptist Church (Hitchcock, TX), and the MI Lewis Social Service Center (Dickinson), among others.

The Houston Association of Black Journalists is a local guild for African American media members (radio, TV, print, authors, etc...) that helps with networking and job placement.

In 2006, the publication deemed it necessary to place a correspondent at Prairie View A&M for feature writing on students from Galveston County. Additionally, when home from school, they assigned Mr. Mitchell to cover certain events within the Galveston County Region. (Still a correspondent)

The National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ) is a guild for African American members of the media, including TV journalists and staff, radio journalists and staff, newspaper journalists and staff as well as authors, poets and others making their impact in the public arena.

While at prairie View A&M University, I joined Alpha Phi Omega National Service Fraternity, the largest collegiate fraternity in the United States. As the name implies, it's a fraternity that prides itself on doing community Service, which I have still done since leaving Prairie View A&M.

Over the course of my career, my articles and essays have required an immense amount of research, usually on the Internet but also at the library and in books. The importance of fact checking and using multiple sources is imperative to being a good writer and credible journalist, as is actually being able to weigh logic and facts to deduce what is truth or a credible conclusion, avoiding fallacy.

It involves volunteering to pass out food from a food truck once a month (fourth Thursday) at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Galveston.

I worked jobs granted by the staffing company in a number of areas, including product receiving/logistics and industrial warehousing.

When visiting relatives in California, Mitchell would perform at the Cal. Poly-Pomona Downtown Center, usually under a varying stage name that evolved from his original public name Poetic Naes (his first name spelled backwards), Sirius (from the celestial star) or a combination of both for the event titled Mic 'N Dim Lights.The weekly show featured poets and artists, usually doing spoken word but occasionally with singers, dancers, painters and storytellers.

Sean has donated to a number of notable causes, including to the Love A Child Christian missionary and humanitarian relief organization. The organization and its members travel to Haiti to help impoverished residents combat the effects of malnutrition and disease. Mitchell noticed the infomercial while watching any one of the various networks devoted to Christian ministry, including TBN and the Word Network.

The Starting Five is a sports-centric site owned by Michael Tillery a writer native to the Philadelphia area. Mostly in 2010, Mitchell wrote a series of articles and interviews that mostly featured well known sports figures from the past.

For various reasons, including the torture of factory farm animals and becoming a vegan his own health reasons, Sean joined the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, also known as PETA for short. He is not an active member but still hopes to take strides in ensuring just treatment for animals and humane farming practice as well as the reduction in the reliance on animal or animal tested products.

Poeticmic.com was a website that hosted different users' poetry as well as contest. Mitchell had about 20 poems on the site, a few of which are lost entirely.

Due to his outstanding work covering local prep/high school football action, which was featured on Associated Content (later the Yahoo! Contributor Network, now defunct), Mr. Mitchell was invited by former Houston Chronicle high school sports editor Michael Peters to enter scores and statistics from local games primarily in football and basketball. Names and statistics were called into the Sports office (then located on Travis Street in Downtown Houston) of the Chronicle building.

Contributor Network) Associated Content was a website that allowed writers the chance write original content for pay, either for exclusive use by the website or at the will of the user. Articles received either residual pay for each view or that in addition to upfront pay from the site.Although somewhat justifiably disparaged as a content mill by some, the website allowed up and coming writers (including Mr. Mitchell) to produce content that could be seen over the internet and in enhance the reputation of the writer (or other applicable term) producing it. Since Sean is intelligent and adaptable to a number of subjects and topics, the website allowed him to develop as a journalist, allowing him to use a media pass and attend sporting events when he otherwise would not have been allowed to attend as anything except a fan.Although faint on the national radar, a notable time period of writing happened when Mitchell covered the 2010 state title game run of La Marque High School in La Marque, TX. Also covering other local high schools, including Pearland High School's run to a state championship simultaneously, Mitchell was there with the Cougars for most of the season and all the way through to its shocking 6-game run to the Texas 4A Division II State Championship Game held in what is now AT&T Stadium in Arlington.This incredible coverage, as well as some of his other previous work, led to him being assigned as a beat writer for the Houston Rockets and Houston Astros as the website transitioned to being taken over by Yahoo! He also covered C-USA basketball and college basketball overall and had an article featuring Duke men's basketball head coach Mike Krzyzewski featured on the front page of Yahoo! Sports.In total, Mitchell wrote 592 articles, opinion pieces and poems for the website, including after its acquisition by Yahoo!.(Most of Sean's articles are currently unavailable, though perhaps available upon request at a later time)

While attending Prairie View A&M University, one of Mr. Mitchell's requirements for his English minor was taking a class centered on prose and poetry, taught by professor Dr. Robert Kirschten. It was effectively Sean's beginning as a poet and allowed him to work and bond with Prairie View poetry legend and prominent Houston Area poet Emmanuelle "Outspoken" Bean, who was also a student in the class.

The now defunct Houston nightclub Shadow Bar hosted poetry nights on Sundays before closing sometime around 2010. Mitchell, going by various stage names which were centered on "Naes" (his first name spelled backwards) or Sirius (in reference to the famous celestial star), occasionally recited poetry and spoken Word at the venue along with poets Emmanuel "Outspoken" Bean, Jeremyah "The Fluent" One Payne, Nyne, Bishop, Black Snow, Shaunie the Poet, Thasia "Trademark™" Madison and other notable Spoken Word artists from the area.

The defect venue Daqui-Ritas Bar and Lounge, in what is traditionally known as the "Dollar Theater" Shopping Center in Webster, TX near Houston (Clear Lake) and Johnson Space Center, hosted poetry night every Thursday for a number of years and featured a number of poets, including some of Mitchell's then-schoolmates Emmanuel "Outspoken' Bean, Jeremyah "The Fluent One" Payne, Thasia "Trademark™" and Ahmad 'Nyne' Hygh among other poets from the Houston Area.

Briefly an entrepreneur, Mitchell launched So Sirius Productions in 2008 (now defunct). Despite the similarity in title to a well known media company, Mitchell's concept was totally original and artistic.Launched in 2008 and intended to be a major media enterprise and collection of websites, Mitchell began his work by starting a couple of de facto blogs, "SN Sports Beat" and "SN World Beat," both featuring a number of opinion pieces from 'Sirius" (a past pseudonym and stage name for Sean) at www.snsportsbeat.net and www.snworldbeat.net. Of the two, SN Sports Beat received limited national exposure and attention, featuring interviews from current Fox Sports writer and host Chris Broussard (then of ESPN) and former long time St. Joseph's (PA) coach Phil Martelli, among others.Due to the lack of financial success and interest, both were discontinued as was Mitchell's company.
