thryve is a specialist software development house with a focus on the support and development of its corporate insurance broking administration system, and its cloud-based risk and insurance applications in Riskonnect and Salesforce. thryve was formed when software application intellectual property was extracted out of Eikos Risk Applications prior to the sale of Eikos Risk Applications. thryve remains part of the Eikos Group.⏭ I am responsible for strategic direction, product development strategy, and typical managing director stuff.⏭ I oversee thryve’s resource assignment to projects and client work, and ensure the ongoing development of our team, and the growth of the team in order to meet expected client demand⏭ I play a key role in the project management, business analysis and implementation of strategic client projects.⏭ I have oversight of all other client projects that are on the go, and intervene when needed in order to ensure on-time delivery per client requirements.

The second decade of my career was spent in establishing the Eikos Group and the Mitre Risk Capital Group, two independently owned groups providing services in the insurance and risk space. The companies within the Eikos Group developed to include an international risk finance operation, a specialist Bermuda based cell captive insurance company, an operation that manages the insurance placement and risk management of a large grouping of listed South African industrial companies, and the leading specialist South African marine insurance broker. Within the Mitre Risk Capital Group I was involved in the establishment of a leading marine insurance underwriting manager. My responsibilities within the companies of these groups included finance oversight, compliance oversight, operational oversight, systems development and IT infrastructure oversight of the companies. Today many of the operations within the Eikos Group and the Mitre Group have successfully been sold to other leading blue chip international companies. The Eikos and Mitre Risk Groups remain and I am still a Director of the various remaining companies in the Eikos Group, I now focus on the development of thryve (pty) ltd, a software development house focused on insurance and risk type solutions and on our Bermudan cell captive insurer, Norfolk Reinsurance Company. I also am responsible for managing the property investment portfolio of the Eikos Group

The first decade of my career was spent innovating systems development and administration at Price Forbes (which became Alexander Forbes and then was sold to Marsh), South Africa’s largest insurance broker at the time. My responsibilities included the automation of business processes within the marine insurance broking division. At the time, I led the development of the first integrated automated broking administration systems within Price Forbes.
