Sean helped found Ziku Capital via the merger of his Hargate Lending business in 2022. Sean is a seasoned financial expert with an impressive 18-year career in the finance industry. As a Director of the Ziku Lending business, Sean's mission is to empower clients by navigating a myriad of lending scenarios while providing wholistic and suitable credit advice taking into consideration the firms major practice areas in financial advice, accounting and taxation. Before becoming a Director at Ziku Capital, Sean founded Hargate Lending, a venture that served over 400 diverse clients including small to medium business owners, high net worth individuals, families and corporate clients. Prior to this Sean was an Associate Director in ANZ’s Institutional Natural Resources Division, where he was responsible for credit management of a $5bn portfolio of exposures covering Australian/International listed Metals & Mining and Oil & Gas corporate clients. Within metals and mining, Sean’s coverage of clients was across all commodities (base metals, bulk commodities and precious metals) and in Oil & Gas the primary focus was on upstream clients. Sean provided a wide range of advisory services in relation to local and cross border deals including capital structure and liability management as well as providing advice on and execution of senior & syndicated debt issuance. As a Corporate Banker at ANZ, Sean adeptly handled a portfolio surpassing $250 million in direct senior debt exposures, including senior debt issuance for a range of clients undertaking leveraged finance and private equity transactions. Sean started his career as a chartered accountant within Ernst & Young’s financial services practice. Beyond his professional life, Sean relishes discovering new places and immersing himself in diverse cultures. He loves spending time with his wife and three children. In his leisure time, Sean enjoys the thrill of playing basketball, watching football and reading a good book.
