I have 30+ years of experience representing various organizations, including insurance companies, government contractors, construction companies, and law firms in federal and state courts across the country. I am a Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/US), a certified Artificial Intelligence Governance Professional (AIGP), and a frequent speaker and author on data security and privacy issues.I began my legal career with a government contracts firm, followed by a stint as a clerk for the U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland. Later, I joined the U.S. Department of Justice, Civil Division, as a trial attorney, where I handled commercial litigation trials and appeals, as well as government contract and construction litigation. After DOJ, I became defense and coverage counsel for insurance companies around the country and began learning about cybersecurity (then called "information security").I am a Senior Director of the Federation of Defense & Corporate Counsel ("FDCC"), and I chair the FDCC's AI Task Force (among other things). I also serve on DRI's AI Task Force and on its Center for Law and Public Policy. Additionally, I am a member of the International Association of Defense Counsel ("IADC"), where I Co-Chair the AI Committee and serve as a Vice Chair of the Cyber Security, Data Privacy and Technology Committee. I am also a member of the Association of Defense Trial Attorneys ("ADTA"), where I chair the Artificial Intelligence Steering Committee.
