Chairperson, Tokenised Asset Forum (October 2023 – Present)As the Chairperson of the Tokenised Asset Forum, I lead a collaborative initiative of industry professionals focused on exploring and advancing the adoption of tokenised assets within the financial sector. My responsibilities include: • Regulatory Engagement: Coordinating with regulators, including the South African Reserve Bank (SARB), to align our sandbox initiatives with the SARB Digital Payment Roadmap. • Strategic Planning: Organizing and facilitating weekly forum sessions under Chatham House Rules to draft high-level recommendations on tokenisation use cases, legal frameworks, and technical infrastructure. • Stakeholder Collaboration: Bringing together key stakeholders to discuss innovative applications such as tokenised money market funds and bank deposits, and addressing regulatory and technical challenges. • Report Preparation: Overseeing the preparation of comprehensive reports and proposals for submission to regulatory bodies by June 2025.Through this role, I aim to drive thought leadership and foster collaboration in the evolving landscape of digital assets and blockchain technology.
