In his role as CEO of RainFin Sean was responsible for the then largest investment by a financial institution into FinTech innovation in South Africa prior to 2015, with the partial sale of the credit disruptor RainFin to the Barclays Africa Group and the Investment of equity and debt of over R200m by the group into the business to expand RainFin from SME and Consumer finance offering to building a Fintech utility for corporate debt securitisations with multi country capabilities.Sean started his journey in building disruptive technology platforms in 1999 whenhe founded the Procurement and Supply Chain E-Marketplace TradeWorld. Over the period 1999 to 2005 Sean and the team built TradeWorld into one of the leading E-marketplaces globally in terms of transaction volumes, the business was ultimetly acquired by the Global firm SAP-Ariba in 2005.Between 2005-2010 Sean was Corporate Finance and Strategy Director for Mondia Media Middle Eastresponsible for the venture capital investments in “Disruptive New-Media” and DigitalEntertainment strategy for the partnership Investment fund between Mondia limited and Abu DhabiInvestment Group.
