As a Software Development Engineer II at Amazon Prime Video, I design, debug, and implement React Native code utilizing TypeScript for the Prime Video client on Amazon Echo Show and FireTV devices. I monitor the production use of Prime Video clients through the utilization of AWS CloudWatch metrics and alarms. In my role as a team lead, I work collaboratively with other Amazon teams representing the Prime Video backend, FireTV launcher, FireTV EPG station grid, and authentication teams. I currently hold the position of git commit leader for 2024 across the three teams within my organization.

In the Ruby on Rails framework, I built the vetting system that verifies if ingredient-based products meet the conditions set forth by retailer, government, and non-profit policies. This vetting system enables the management of arbitrary soft-coded logic matchers by a science team through interactive and intuitive web-based administrative pages. I owned the Ruby on Rails application that managed the administrative pages, Rails API, and data mining. The tools and integrations utilized included SendGrid, Active Admin, Sidekiq, PostgreSQL, Ruby on Rails, React, Auth0, Heroku, Elasticsearch, Active Storage, S3, Stripe, and Cloudinary.

Responsible for data collection and analysis for EWG's work on cosmetics, household cleaners, food products, and various other data projects. Programming in Ruby on Rails, I managed a small team to implement feature requests and bug fixes for EWG's Skin Deep® cosmetics database, EWG's Guide to Healthy Cleaning, EWG's Food Scores, EWG's Sunscreen Guide, and EWG's custom data management platform used by our research teams. I also supported the science team to create reports and peer-reviewed papers based on our product label data.

At EWG, I have been exposing how the chemicals used in consumer goods impact our environment and health. Along with an amazing team of researchers and designers, I have created the database, administrative tools, and scoring frameworks for cosmetic (EWG's Skin Deep®), household cleaning products (EWG's Guide to Healthy Cleaning), and packaged foods (EWG's Food Scores). In addition to these three major projects, I have provided data and programming support for hundreds of EWG's ground breaking reports since 2000.

Implemented the EWG VERIFIED™ product review process which reviews the package text and ingredients against the standards created by the science team at EWG.

Authored reports and spoke to the press on a wide variety of environmental health topics. Highlights:* Skin Deep database of cosmetics products and their ingredients* Interactive maps of nuclear waste transportation across the US* Interactive maps of mining claims and oil/gas leases on public lands* Guide to Healthy Cleaning looking at ingredients in household cleaners* Tap water database that exposes contaminant levels in public drinking water supplies* Cell phone radiation levels from 2nd and 3rd generation phones* Computer modeling of SPF based on active ingredient percentages in a sunscreen formulation

Co-wrote reports on pesticide drift, tap water contamination, arsenic in pressure treated wood, body burden, and other environmental health topics. Created PHP/MySQL web presentations of these reports.

Assisted Dr. Ronald Smith's research efforts on alpine wave events and tutored students in an introduction to meteorology class.

Working with a 1 dimensional atmospheric model developed by Dr. Alan Robock and Dr. G. Stenchikov, we looked at the role of divergence on climate.
