The following is a list of core competencies emphasized:Leadership and Organizational Development:- Prepared an infantry battalion, recently returned from Afghanistan, for deployment in support of Operation Inherent Resolve (OIR). While deployed the battalion mentored an Iraqi Army Division in combat, trained and helped stand-up a partner-nation regional reaction force, organized and stood a no-notice tactical recovery of aircraft and personnel mission, and provided security at two U.S. embassies in high threat countries.- Supervised the establishment of two overseas headquarters at locations in Kuwait and Iraq, organizing the establishment of security and maintenance capabilities and build-up of life support and contracting support.- Engaged with foreign militaries as both a tenant organization aboard foreign installations and in an advisory capacity under combat conditions.Planning and Operations:- Supervised the development of plans in support of the battalion’s pre-deployment work-ups, a variety of training scenarios, insertion and retrograde of units across the Middle East, and a battle handover with the replacement infantry battalion.- Participated in the development of a campaign plan to focus the activities of a supported Iraqi Division to defeat ISIS in their assigned area of responsibility.- Established a variety of command and control (C2) configurations to support distributed operations of the battalion across the Middle East.
