Reviewed API strategy and led team to develop a new web app designed to be a first-class consumer of the API. This allowed us to focus on the API as a single point of entry for all client applications (web, mobile, desktop) and third-party integrations.

At Rakuten USA, I was tasked with leading the entire development team, reporting directly to the CTO. On a short timeline, we migrated a 700K member base from a third-party hosted solution to an in-house custom web application. We met the hard deadline without downtime or feature loss. The site continued to generate hundreds of thousands of dollars in monthly revenue for 4 years after the team disbanded.

Refactored entire codebase while implementing a UI redesign, resulting in a 10% reduction of code while also increasing the number of features and test coverage. Developed backend features for administrators, including a product importer to handle multiple datafeeds from several different sources in several different formats.

Designed, built and implemented a multi-site-wide LDAP system to unify the authentication and demographic information for Berklee’s constituencies.Developed a Rails-based system to manage demographic and service entitlement data in Berklee’s LDAP system. This system reduced the number of service access and password- related support requests referred to the Operations team by 95%.Technical lead in transitioning course registration, scheduling, grading, and grade reporting from a paper-based system to a fully online system.Assisted in building a symfony-based online scholarship application system (the basis of the next version of the online admissions application). This in-house system saved $500,000 by replacing a third party solution.Led the adoption of Agile development practices.
