Associate Consultant
Served as the Subject Matter Expert for Xerox Corp.'s Unified Communications architecture. Working in the R&D, Proof of Concept and Pilot phases of the Service Development Life Cycle, my primary focus was on the development, trial and integration of future voice, video and mobile technologies to Xerox’s existing communications infrastructure. Tasks included the research, design, implementation and documentation of new Cisco UC technologies in Xerox’s Development, Integration and Operations Labs. Following technical presentations of these technologies to Xerox management, I served as a liaison in the planning and production implementation phases to ensure successful delivery of my efforts. Aside from the aforementioned projects, I was the Lead Consultant for the global IP Telephony upgrade at Xerox. This included the upgrade of all Cisco Unified Communications Manager clusters and their components, Cisco Unity Servers and Cisco IPCCX servers globally. I also remained engaged in existing Xerox IP Telephony operational concerns as I served as the Lead IPT Engineer for Xerox out of the Dimension Data Global Service Center for over a year and a half. Xerox came to me for direction on operational issues regularly and I accepted Break/Fix escalations when necessary.
Engineer - Ip Telephony
As an IP Telephony Engineer for Dimension Data’s Managed Services organization, I worked onsite as the Lead Engineer for Xerox Corp.'s global Cisco IP Telephony architecture. This included the management of eight Cisco Unified CallManager clusters, 30 Unity servers, five IPCCX servers, 550 gateways/gatekeepers and 30,000+ IP phones. Complexities included a rare gatekeeper design for call admission control and centralized call routing, Unified Messaging, Unity Bridge integration with Octel, ACD integration, Legacy Toll Bypass, Virtual Office users, and working in both a multi-vendor and multi-lingual environment. I was solely responsible for all Priority 1/ Priority 2 trouble tickets, and all afterhours maintenance. Maintenance windows included device upgrades, the application of all patches and Engineering Specials, working with Cisco TAC, and any other Break/Fix work that needed to be conducted afterhours so the user population was not affected. I created and maintained all technical documentation specific to IPT procedures for Xerox. Aggressive weekly deployment schedules created an ever evolving architecture, which in turn created thousands of Break/Fix tickets quarterly. I excelled in this role quickly making me the primary interface for any questions regarding the Xerox IPT infrastructure globally. The position was extremely challenging and I was rewarded continuously for my long hours, high performance and customer satisfaction. In August, 2009, I was promoted to Subject Matter Expert to begin working on Xerox’s next generation Unified Communications technologies.
